About the Role
The Sourdough Production Associate is responsible for high-volume dough mixing and supporting daily production operations. This role ensures consistency and quality across all batches while assisting with kitchen prep, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Success in this position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to stay productive in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Scale and mix dough in high-volume batches following established formulas
- Monitor dough consistency and adjust based on temperature and conditions
- Manage fermentation timing and workflow
- Maintain consistency and quality across all batches
- Utilize proper labeling when storing product
- Prepare components such as jams, custards, and fillings
- Assist with setting up and preparing sheet pans for production
- Maintain ready-to-use ingredients (e.g., tempering butter to room temperature)
- Support general kitchen prep as needed
- Clean and sanitize mixing bowls, mixers, and production equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout the shift
- Perform detailed cleaning of tools, utensils, tables, and surrounding areas
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
Weekly Schedule
- Full-Time
- Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (can be flexible)
- Occasional weekend shifts may be required based on production needs
What We’re Looking For
- Previous kitchen, bakery, or food production experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Proven history of reliability at previous workplaces
Required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Available to work full-time, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by baker operations
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10- hours)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, reaching, and manual dexterity
- Ability to work around food allergens (including but not limited to dairy, gluten, nuts, and eggs)
Compensation
- $18–25 / hour based on experience and demonstrated skill
- Pooled tips allocated based on hours worked
- Overtime opportunities during peak production periods
